Chiefs sign suspended kicker Justin Tucker to practice squad
The Kansas City Chiefs are signing former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad, according to multiple outlets.[1, 5, 10 +2] Tucker, a five-time All-Pro, has not played in the NFL since 2024.[3, 5, 12] While a free agent last season, Tucker served a 10-game suspension for violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy, following sexual misconduct allegations.[3, 7, 13]
The move comes as Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has missed five of 16 field goal attempts this season, according to The Guardian.[1, 7] Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed the signing on Wednesday, offering a short explanation when asked why the team was comfortable signing Tucker.[3, 4]
