Canelo Alvarez regains WBC super-middleweight title over Mbilli
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez regained the WBC super-middleweight title with a unanimous-decision victory over the previously unbeaten Christian Mbilli in Riyadh on Saturday night.[1, 2, 5] Canelo, 36, used precise counterpunching and a strong second-half performance, according to ABC News.[2] The fight went ahead at Kingdom Arena despite a week of heightened Houthi attacks, The Guardian reported.[1]
Canelo had lost the title to Terence Crawford last year.[9] Forbes reported that Hamzah Sheeraz and Lester Martinez are the likeliest next opponents for Canelo.[3]
