Dozens arrested at London protest supporting Palestine Action
London police arrested dozens of people at a protest outside the US embassy in London for expressing support for the proscribed group Palestine Action.[3, 9] Al Jazeera reported that 48 people were arrested.[7] More than 100 people took part, many holding signs reading: "I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action."[1, 4]
A Met commander alleged the demonstrators were "essentially meeting to purposefully commit a crime".[1] Al Jazeera reported that demonstrations in London and Edinburgh came days before a UK Supreme Court appeal challenging the group's proscription.[7]
