Luka Dončić scores 52 as Lakers rally past Jazz to reach 3-0
Luka Dončić scored 52 points with 10 assists as the Lakers beat the Utah Jazz 132-123, improving to 3-0, according to IJR and ESPN.[2, 8] The Lakers rallied from an 18-point first-quarter deficit, and Austin Reaves added 29 points, IJR reported.[2] Dončić hit three late three-pointers in the fourth quarter and eight threes in the game, according to the Los Angeles Times and ESPN.[8, 9]
It was the NBA's first 50-point game of the season, The Athletic and ESPN reported, and drew MVP chants from the crowd.[8, 10] Dončić became the first Laker since Elgin Baylor in 1963 to record at least 50 points and 10 assists in a game, IJR reported.[2] The Athletic reported it was Dončić's highest-scoring game since a 60-point game in Miami on March 19, following a slow start to the season by his standards.[10]
