Piastri loses Mexican GP points finish after 10-second penalty
Oscar Piastri lost his points finish in the Mexican Grand Prix after stewards gave him a 10-second time penalty for a collision with Arvid Lindblad.[4, 5, 6] The FIA confirmed the penalty following an investigation, according to PlanetF1.[3] Piastri drives for McLaren, and his weekend at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez had already been difficult.[1, 2]
He qualified 12th, ending a streak of 60 Q3 appearances including sprints, which Motorsport.com and Autosport reported paved the way for his troubles in the midfield.[1, 2] Motorsport.com and Autosport reported that Piastri gained three spots during the race before the penalty.[1, 2]
