Lando Norris qualifies eighth for the United States Grand Prix after track limits penalty
Lando Norris qualified eighth for Formula 1's United States Grand Prix after a time was struck off for exceeding track limits.[2, 4] He had briefly taken sixth with his second Q3 run before the lap was deleted, and he will share row four with McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri.[4] Norris, the reigning world champion, said he had thought a front row was possible and called his performance a "very bad job".[1, 4]
He also said he was "scared in every single corner" during what he described as "terrible" qualifying, according to RaceFans.[6] PlanetF1 reported that Norris blamed his McLaren for his troubles; Crash.net reported that he blamed himself.[2, 5]
