Chili's customers burned after degreaser mixed into margaritas
Three customers and two employees suffered symptoms, including chemical burns, after drinking margaritas mistakenly mixed with an industrial degreaser at a Chili's in Forest City, North Carolina.[1, 2, 3] The Foothills Health District said three customers were sickened at the restaurant, while two workers also showed symptoms.[1]
The New York Post reported that an employee preparing the bar for lunch service mistook a granulated degreaser for sugar.[4] Fox News reported the degreaser was mistakenly used to prepare the margaritas.[3]
