Man arrested for spray-painting 9/11 memorial in New York
A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly spray-painting a gun control message on the 9/11 Memorial in New York City.[3, 5] The Daily Wire reported that Johnathan Tijerina filmed himself at Ground Zero spray-painting the words "just stop killing kids" on top of panels listing victims' names.[4] Conservative Review and Blaze Media reported he is accused of spraying the address of his anti-gun website over the engraved names of some of the 2,977 victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.[1, 3]
The Washington Examiner reported Tijerina was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and making graffiti.[5] Several politicians and candidates, mostly Republicans, expressed outrage over the vandalism, according to The Washington Examiner.[5]
