Eli Lilly says retatrutide doubled weight loss vs Ozempic in trial
Eli Lilly announced that its experimental drug retatrutide led to more than double the weight loss of Ozempic in a head-to-head trial.[1, 2] Retatrutide patients lost 44.3 to 47.4 pounds over 80 weeks, versus 20.9 pounds on Ozempic 2 mg, according to Eli Lilly.[2]
The trial was a Phase 3 diabetes trial with 1,298 people, IJR reported.[2] Business Insider described it as the first head-to-head trial of Ozempic versus retatrutide.[1]
