SK Hynix reports sharply higher third-quarter profit on AI demand

Fortune reported quarterly revenue of $78.3 billion, the company's highest-ever quarterly total; Fast Company reported 104.62 trillion won ($78.13 billion), the first time sales topped 100 trillion won.[5, 7] The company announced stock buybacks, and The Wall Street Journal reported plans for $75 billion in shareholder returns.[6, 8]
SK Hynix said the memory-chip shortage will last until 2030 and that more than half its production is booked for the next two years.[5] Semafor noted the results came after official data showed South Korea's GDP growth beat analysts' expectations.[9]
