National Guard activated in Washington state to monitor ballot boxes
National Guard troops are monitoring ballot boxes in Washington state after threats, with at least 100 members activated to assist with election security in seven counties.[1] The Political Insider reported that Department of Justice teams will also be deployed to monitor elections in the state this week, and officials said the monitoring is intended to ensure a smooth and fair process.[4] The Hill reported that National Guard members in at least seven states will have some form of a role around Tuesday's midterm elections, including Iowa guardsmen tasked with monitoring and defending election networks.[2]
