New York State Police to take over Cornell sexual assault complaints
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday that New York State Police will take over sexual assault complaints at Cornell University.[1, 2] Typically, sexual assault complaints at the school are investigated by campus police.[1]
The change was announced amid backlash over Cornell's handling of gang rape allegations involving a fraternity on campus.[1, 3] Hochul said she would do "everything in my power" to ensure the change, according to The Hill.[1]
