Senate Democrats accuse X of favoring Polymarket
Four Senate Democrats accused Elon Musk's social media platform X of giving prediction market Polymarket preferential treatment on its timeline.[1] Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto, Jacky Rosen, Adam Schiff and Richard Blumenthal sent a letter to X leadership Friday.[1]
The letter included screenshots showing three apparent attempts to report Polymarket ads, according to The Hill.[1] Elon Musk owns X, and Donald Trump Jr. has invested in and advises Polymarket, per Semafor.[2]
Why it matters The accusation puts X leadership in the position of responding to a Senate letter over how ads are handled on its timeline.[1]
