Flávio Bolsonaro arrives in Miami after losing Brazil's election
Flávio Bolsonaro, the Brazilian senator who lost Sunday's presidential election to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, arrived in Miami on a private jet on Wednesday after leaving Brazil in the night.[4, 17] A Brazilian Supreme Court justice had ordered him to surrender his passports minutes after the election result, in connection with a money-laundering probe.[7, 12, 13] NBC News reported the U.S. government will grant Bolsonaro and his family entry visas in Miami.[8]
In a letter from Miami that he edited twice, Bolsonaro denied fleeing, called himself the victim of a "witch hunt" and compared himself to Charles de Gaulle.[11] Trump said he would not "take sides" in the election but called it a "disgrace".[14]
