Powerball jackpot reaches $760 million as win unclear
The latest Powerball drawing produced a $760 million jackpot, according to The Political Insider.[2] Forbes reported the jackpot is nearing $800 million.[1] It is not yet clear whether anyone matched all six winning numbers, which Central Oregon Daily published, The Political Insider reported.[2]
If no ticket matched every number, the jackpot rolls over and grows larger for the next drawing.[2] Forbes reported that a winner would choose between the full jackpot in 30 annual payments or an immediate lump sum of $339.9 million, which would be reduced further after taxes.[1] The Political Insider advised players holding a winning ticket to sign it and contact lottery officials before claiming.[2]
