Judge asked to compel Trump administration to disclose Kennedy Center records

Lawyers for a Democratic lawmaker asked a judge to compel President Donald Trump's administration to disclose emails and texts about its Kennedy Center plans.[1, 2] The attorneys said the administration is withholding records documenting the scope of Trump's influence over the center's management.[2]

In a court filing on Sunday, the plaintiffs' lawyers said a list of records in the Kennedy Center's possession suggests Trump has been in "near-constant contact" with the center's management, directly or through intermediaries.[1] The lawsuit challenges the Republican president's plan to close the performing arts center for renovations.[2]
