Judge opens inquiry into whether Trump officials misled court
A federal judge on Friday opened an inquiry into whether government lawyers made misrepresentations in court about President Donald Trump's plans to take over and renovate the East Potomac Park golf course in Washington, D.C.[3, 4] The New Republic reported that a special master will be appointed and that the investigation will begin in a matter of days.[4] The concerns center on whether the Justice Department and Interior Department lied to Reyes over several months of the case, according to AlterNet.[1]
The Hill described Friday's hearing as the latest clash between Reyes and the Justice Department in the ongoing legal battle over redevelopment of East Potomac Golf Links.[8] 'We played games on Oct. 19. We're not doing it today,' Reyes said during the hearing, according to Mediaite.[7]
