Former Chicago FBI head sues Justice Department over resignation
Douglas DePodesta, the former head of the FBI's Chicago field office, sued the Justice Department over his resignation.[1, 2, 3] The Hill reported that the suit also names President Trump and other top administration officials, including Blanche and Patel.[3] DePodesta says he was forced out after prosecutions of protesters known as the Broadview Six, brought by U.S. Attorney Andrew S. Boutros, fell apart.[2]
He accused the Trump administration of pressuring him to investigate the president's political opponents and called himself a scapegoat.[1] The Hill reported he alleges a federal prosecutor sought to blame him for the collapse of the case against six protesters opposing the federal immigration crackdown.[3]
