Daylight saving time ends as clocks fall back
Daylight saving time ended this weekend, with clocks set back one hour across most of the United States.[1, 2] The Los Angeles Times noted that Californians, like most of America, would get an extra hour of sleep when the change took effect overnight.[2] CBS News reported that millions of Americans gained an hour of sleep as the annual fall time change, commonly known as clocks "falling back," concluded for 2026.[1]
