Average gas price under Trump now tops average under Biden
The average nationwide gasoline price during Donald Trump's presidency has overtaken the average recorded over Joe Biden's entire presidency, according to analyses of AAA data.[1, 2, 3] Bloomberg reported that nearly two years into Trump's presidency, the fuel's retail cost has averaged $3.472 a gallon, per the American Automobile Association.[2]
Forbes said the average during Trump's second term is now slightly higher than the average for Biden's single term.[3] The Daily Beast reported that Trump is doing consistently worse on fuel costs than Biden despite his campaign pledge to bring back bargain-basement gas prices.[1]
