Instagram launches longform video push with up to 90-minute uploads
Instagram announced "Features," its first major push into longform, horizontal video, allowing creators to post up to 90 minutes of content at a time.[2, 3] Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri and VP of product Tessa Lyons announced the product in a six-and-a-half-minute video posted October 26.[2, 4] Mosseri said he had been against doing longform video on the platform "for a long time."[4]

Why it matters The move puts Instagram in direct competition with YouTube for longform video creators and viewers.[2, 3]
