Trump to give final midterm pitch at closed Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool
President Donald Trump is making his closing pitch of the midterm elections at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on the eve of Election Day.[72, 95] Trump signaled the plan on Sunday, telling reporters as he deplaned from Air Force One for a rally in Iowa that speaking at the site would "show how..." the repair effort is going.[72]
The National Park Service announced last month that the Reflecting Pool would remain closed to visitors until November 20 amid ongoing restoration work.[50] Outlets described the repair effort as slow, expensive and problem-plagued.[72, 95]
