GM to move stock listing from NYSE to Nasdaq on Nov. 17
General Motors will move its stock listing from the New York Stock Exchange to Nasdaq on Nov. 17, the company announced Tuesday.[3, 4] GM expects to keep its "GM" ticker symbol and says shareholders do not need to take action because of the transfer.[3] The Wall Street Journal reported that GM is the latest marquee company to move from the NYSE to its younger rival.[6]
The New York Times reported GM had been listed on the NYSE for more than 100 years.[1] Bloomberg reported GM plans to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market and position itself as a tech-forward company.[2]
