Man pleads guilty to federal hate crimes in Colorado firebombing
Mohamed Soliman pleaded guilty Thursday to federal hate crime and other charges over a deadly 2025 firebombing attack on demonstrators in Boulder, Colorado.[2, 3, 4] The Washington Examiner reported he entered the plea on nine federal hate crime counts, including one resulting in an elderly woman's death, and three other counts.[2]
Soliman, a 47-year-old Egyptian national, is already serving a life sentence after pleading guilty to state charges last spring.[2, 3, 4] Federal prosecutors, who previously said they would not seek the death penalty, said at the hearing they would seek a life term plus 50 years in prison.[4]
