Manhunt underway after convicted murderer escapes Tennessee prison
A manhunt is underway after convicted murderer Jacob Allen Morley, 28, escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee, on Sunday evening.[3, 19, 21] The Tennessee Department of Correction announced the escape on Monday.[3, 19] Morley is serving a life sentence for a 2022 murder, which The Washington Times reported was the killing of his co-worker.[3, 17]
Security video showed Morley breaching a fence while still wearing prison clothing, according to Fox News.[13] Yahoo News reported that he escaped through the prison's fence around 11:30 p.m. before stealing a truck and driving off.[12]
NBC News reported that Morley allegedly stole a work truck and remains on the loose.[9] Authorities are asking local residents to check their home security cameras for any sign of the escapee, CBS News reported.[7]
