Internal GOP poll shows Ramaswamy trailing Acton after attack ad
An internal poll commissioned by a Republican group shows Vivek Ramaswamy trailing Amy Acton by eight points in the Ohio governor's race after his campaign aired a personal attack ad, according to Axios.[5, 7, 13 +1] Raw Story reported that before the ad began circulating on October 19, Acton led by two points, and that she rose from 47 percent to 50 percent while Ramaswamy slipped from 45 percent to 42 percent.[5]
An unnamed Trump adviser told Zeteo that Ramaswamy had ignored warnings about the ad, saying it made him look as if he was "siding with the rapist protector mom."[2] The New Republic reported that long-lost family members have emerged to defend Acton from the attacks.[9]
Why it matters The poll shows Ramaswamy falling further behind Acton in the Ohio governor's race, with the midterm election days away.[5, 13]
