Two Colorado college students found dead after hike
The bodies of Colorado Mountain College Leadville students Kaden Matsuda, 19, and Jackson Donlon, 20, were found Wednesday afternoon after they went missing during a hike.[1, 2, 9] The Chaffee County Sheriff's Office said the bodies were found in a basin of West Apostle Mountain, about 100 miles southeast of Aspen.[9] The two had left the college's Leadville campus to hike near Ice Mountain, a roughly 14,000-foot peak in central Colorado.[1, 6, 7]
A heavy snowstorm struck the area while they were on the trip last weekend.[2, 6, 8] Authorities announced the finding late Wednesday after a three-day search.[1, 5]
