Netherlands pulls out of Eurovision 2027 over Israel sensitivities
The Netherlands will not take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, its public broadcaster NPO said Tuesday, reversing a decision to return.[1, 2, 3 +2] NPO cited sensitivities over Israel's participation amid the Gaza war and said there was insufficient support among Dutch broadcasters.[1, 2, 5]
Al Jazeera reported the withdrawal is the latest in a number of boycotts by countries unhappy about Israel's inclusion.[4] NOS will still air the contest with Dutch commentary and a preview program.[2]
